The Goal - Consider Your Life As A Whole

I want to flourish in a life of connection.  What’s most important to me is to live a life honoring and nurturing that connection:  within our relationships with our bodies - the way we feed them, move them, talk to them, rest them; within our relationships with each other and our recognition of our shared experience as human beings; and within our relationship with the earth that tirelessly gives to us.  We are inextricably connected to all.

And now, as an ADAPT Certified Functional Health Coach, I want to help you feel connected - to your well-being, to your belonging, to your power to flourish in your best life.

You’re Not Alone

You arrive at work, only to wish you were back in your car going home.  Your every day leaves you feeling like you cannot continue at the rate you’re going but not knowing what to do to change it.  It’s yet another night of laying awake, staring into the darkness doubting yourself, feeling stuck and helpless and having no clue how to take a step forward.  You’re uninspired, you have no energy, you have issues with your digestion and weight, your relationships are suffering, and you keep thinking/saying “this is not like me…I just don’t feel like myself.”

Over the course of two years I had every one of these thoughts and more.  Along with imaginary conversations with my co-workers, clients, and administration that continued in a loop affecting my day-to-day experiences with them, my belief in the company I worked for and the product I delivered.  The expressed mission of the company and my perceived real life actions of the company did not match and no longer aligned with my own values.  I felt ineffective in my role.  And I took on everyone’s struggle within the company as my own.  I was healthy and “fit,” with absolutely no energy reserve to spend with friends or my husband and my recovery time was crap.  I. Was. Exhausted.  And a bit resentful and hopeless, to be honest.

And while we all know life’s struggles never stop, it’s in those struggles we find the shovels that dig the deepest.  Because we need them to.  And its in that digging that I found, not the quick fix I was so desperately hoping for, but the healing that I actually needed.

I can’t say any part of it was easy.  So much of my identity was wrapped up in my job.  The decision to leave and the months following departure were filled with grief and a true time of reckoning for myself.  Who am I?  What is it that I really believe in?  What’s important to me?

This is how I came to health coaching.  And not only health coaching, but functional health coaching.  This training taught me invaluable information on how to live a healthy and sustainable life through connecting and re-connecting to our ancestral intuition (we are built to move, to play, to rest, to eat what fuels and sustains our energy, to be a part of a community, to live in harmony with the earth - as best we can).  It has also taught me and made me practice the invaluable art of communication (being curious about my needs and the needs of others that are fueling feelings and actions, observing and celebrating strengths and values, acknowledging challenges and working with myself and others on ways to approach them).

In Partnership With You

Health and healing are participatory.  It’s a team sport. And it requires practice. I’m here to help you feel empowered to be an active participant in your life, your health, your wellness and well-being and own your authority as the only and best YOU there is.
